Fell in love, moved back to England for three years, started blogging about my time here which includes my fairytale wedding, plenty of travel, starting a family and other little bits and bobs. Life isn't always perfect but I sure have a lust for it and I am blessed to have found an amazing best friend and husband to share the bumps with. This is my awesome adventure called life and I am loving it.

FIND REASONS TO LOVE YOUR LIFE
Maybe life wasn’t fair with you. Yes, I know, I’ve been there: life is never fair. But it’s fantastic. It’s unique, unrepeatable, one of a kind, beautiful, simple, challenging, sweet, hard… Just take a step back and find reasons to love your life. -Dragos Roua

LIFE IS GOOD
After a dip in our pool which was slightly polar bear at 21C. I am feeling refreshed on this super hot day- feels like Italy might actually be warmer. Speaking of Italy...Just made these gorgeous Caprese salads to enjoy on the deck with my awesome little family. Feeling blessed.

OTTAWA TULIPS
I woke up Sunday morning with thoughts of tulips in my head. The Ottawa Tulip Festival started this week. I checked the events website and saw they had self guided biking routes. We had our bikes loaded on the car and we were out of the house by 10 o'clock.
It was the first time trying out the child seat that came with my bike I bought in Italy two years ago. Euan fit well in the seat and loved the bike ride. It was a great family day out and the tulips were beautiful.
I made us a little picnic; we squatted under a tree and feasted on ham sandwiches fresh strawberries, cheese & ice cold oranges-yum!

My VEGETABLE GARDEN
We planted the pool house window boxes this weekend and Steve built the box for our vegetable garden. I will be doing the transfer this week. Most of my seeds are ready to go in the ground. The Zucchini seeds are taking a bit longer to grow. I have put some extra light on them today hoping they will be ready for the end of the week. This is my first garden so I am not expecting instant success just hoping for a few odds and ends. I wish I had added carrots and potatoes- Jenn found some from last year while digging through her garden the other day.
So much to learn but I am really excited!

FIRST HAIR CUT
My little bug went for his very first hair cut on Saturday morning. We taped his locks on a certificate that will go in his baby book. He was a very good sport and there were no tears.. OK- maybe a few from me!

OH MR SUN.. SUN
Summer is here. We have skipped spring and went directly to summer. It's 7:00pm and still at a very hot 26 degrees. I'm going to be honest and complain a bit- I'm melting!
My favourite seasons are Spring and Fall. The air is crisp and smells amazing. After three years in England this heat is going to take some getting used to. Husband says I will eventually acclimatize.

YOUNG LOVE
Two times today, I was drawn to young love.
A very young teenage couple, in the elevator at the natural history museum. they were on a school field trip just barely holding hands- like it would be electric if they completely clasped together. A second couple waiting to cross the street a boy 20ish eagerly leaned in eyes a twinkle for a quick PDA kiss.
I thought of Husband and how easy it is to be comfortable, to take for granted those electric feelings; then I checked the post, Steve had sent me a card filled with love written by him and I lit up like a light bulb and felt the exact thing I had seen twice today....
Young Love!
Thank you Steve for making me sparkle . xo
