Fell in love, moved back to England for three years, started blogging about my time here which includes my fairytale wedding, plenty of travel, starting a family and other little bits and bobs. Life isn't always perfect but I sure have a lust for it and I am blessed to have found an amazing best friend and husband to share the bumps with. This is my awesome adventure called life and I am loving it.

SHROVE TUESDAY
(Fat Tuesday) is one of the best days of the year. I love pancakes. It’s as simple as that. In other parts of the world the day is known as Carnival or Mardi Gras or Shrove Tuesday the days of celebration and excess leading up to the beginning of the 40 days of fasting and penance, known as Lent.
Husband is cooking pancakes as I sit here and write this. We got home later this evening after taking Euan to get his pictures done. He's going to be 1 in just a few weeks. My big boy will be joining our pancake feast this evening.
Happy Pancake Tuesday! xo

JOHNNIE WHO
A friend of mine is having trouble with a roommate which sparked a conversation with Husband starting like this- "Honey am I the best roommate you have ever had" He looked at me with those shiny eyes and gave me the flat out truth "NO..." "What!! who was then?" "Well dear, it was Johnnie." (got to love his honesty) "Why?" *no fussing, super clean and organized bought and had minimal stuff, shared cooking, he was frugal-like me no buying extra or grumping about buying extra stuff ... he put up with my drinking and falling asleep in bars basically best buddy all around.
"Well, I'll be writing John a letter and letting him know you will be joining him in his retirement digs in Chile!" Yeah right, what I really said "Honey you are the best roommate I have ever had and I'm keeping you, thank you for forgiving me for not putting the tops on things properly"
I would just like to point out that having separate bathrooms has partly taken care of that problem.
I love you Sweet!

BLUE ENVELOPE
My Give Monday didn't go to the original plan.
Instead, we took the envelope to the grocery store yesterday afternoon. When I found this task online I thought it would be very easy but all of sudden I was feeling very anxious. Who would I give it to? The guy that drove up beside up in the Lexus? The lady that left as I entered? The man that left his wife to grab some laundry soap and landed in the same isle as us? The entire idea of giving a stranger the envelope brought out my shy side. We did most of our grocery shopping and I went off to look in the Joe section like usual with the envelope burning a hole in my handbag! It was there that I saw a new Mom looking at the kid's clothes. I knew instantly she was going to receive my Give Monday envelope. This is how it went for all who inquired... It was awkward!!!! I walked up, took the envelope out of my hand bag and said "Here you go." She gave me a funny look and said "What is it?!? I awkwardly said to open it and walked away at a very quick pace, wanting nothing more than to sink into the floor. I took off my hat hoping to look different. I was afraid of her reaction. At this point I'd wished I'd left it in an aisle. Is it so ridiculous to give a stranger 10 dollars?- YES! I texted Steve and told him to meet me at the cash. With confusion, he asked what was going on and when I told him laughed with me again, confused over my sudden shyness. He was happy that I finally understood how hard it would have been for him to have done the same thing- Maybe next month it will be your turn Steve....
At the end of the day, I think it's a pretty darn cool thing to do and I hope one day to be lucky enough to be the random recipient of a Blue Give Monday envelope. I'll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled!

GIVE MONDAYS
I came across this website in my online travels and loved the idea. Today I gave Steve an envelope to gift someone on his morning commute. I'm giddy about this. I can't wait until he comes home to hear his story.

The note read- "TGIM, said nobody ever."
Looks like the start of a great week. Here's a little something to warm you up on this winter Monday.

GRAMMYS
The Grammys exploded with talent last night. Mumford and Sons AHHHH.... LOVED! So many great moments. Maroon 5, Justin, Adele, Taylor, Rihanna.... the list goes on and on. I can't wait for the post to arrive so I can get a better look at the red carpet fashion.
LOVE FOOD
My Hunny & I made a delicious Sunday roast beef sided with spinach, peas and perfect English roasties after our sunny family skate on the Rideau Canal this afternoon. The heavens opened and dumped a whack load of snow on us on Friday but the rest of the weekend was gorgeous and productive.
DID YOU KNOW
Timing significantly influences love. Individuals are more likely to fall in love if they are looking for adventure, craving to leave home, lonely, displaced in a foreign country, passing into a new stage of life or financially and psychologically ready to share themselves or start a family.

FRIDAY QUOTE
The more anger towards the past you carry in your heart, the less capable you are of loving in the present.

THANK YOU HUSBAND
" A real man is a woman's best friend. He will never stand her up and never let her down. He will reassure her when she feels insecure and comfort her after a bad day. He will inspire her to do things she never thought she could do; to live without fear and forget regret. He will enable her to express her deepest emotions and give in to her most intimate desires. He will make sure she always feels as though she's the most beautiful woman in the room and will enable her to be the most confident, sexy, seductive, and invincible person alive....."
