FESTIVE FRIDAY

I am having a friend over for take-out tonight. J is making a chocolate cake for dessert, which is pretty special as she is the Cake Boss of Ottawa, in my opinion. She attended classes at Cordon Bleu in Paris so I'm pretty eager to sink my teeth into that cake.

It's been an emotional week but I am determined to put that all behind me and enjoy the weekend. I'm looking forward to putting on a bit of glitter and going to GG's party on Saturday night. We found a babysitter for Euan and it's not Nanna (eeeek!) I'll let you know how long I last.

I'm finally going to see Twilight on Sunday after much anticipation. It's the first movie I've seen in a very long time and probably the last I'll see for a while. The funny thing about this is- Steve just said to me last week when we get to BC I'll take you to Twilight and then a friend called and asked me to go- you should have seen the relief on Steve's face - or maybe it was sadness? Hmmm....

Have a festive weekend ladies and gentlemen.  xoxoxo

Fa La La La La, La La La La

Oh, the weather outside is frightful.... I just downloaded 'sing a long; carols onto my iPad - I'm pretty bad. My husband just looks at me with such love when I belt out a wrong note and I burst into a fit of giggles. He has so much tolerance for my over exuberant love of the holidays. I actually think he's becoming quite the holiday hussy himself.

I'm getting soooo excited to get home for Euan's first Christmas. So many fun things to look forward to- family, friends & food! Mom already has my wish list...Cabbage rolls, Sausage rolls, Curry Chicken, Triffle...

My Mom is such an insane cook. I can't wait to watch Mom and Steve in the kitchen making bread together for P's party. I'll be spending time with Daddy Walker, My Opa & Uncles, My Brother and family & my oldest friends.

We will be going for lots of walks along the sea wall with Steve and Euan and whoever else will join us. I get to show my little boy the seal lions at Oak Bay Marina where we go for brunch with my parents, Beacon Hill petting Zoo, the glorious Rockies & the beach where I grew up.

Victoria might not be a White Christmas but it will be a joyful one.

ONE OF THOSE DAYS

We had one of those days where we all climbed into bed this afternoon and went for a family nap, it was bliss!

DECEMBER 4th

Christmas cards complete-well, mostly. There are always a few people that pop into my head over the course of December that haven't made it into my address book yet! Most of our gifts have been bought and wrapped. The only thing left to do is make a trip to the post office tomorrow to mail them out. The Gillespie's  have their Christmas on...the radio has been blaring carols all week long.

What's left....The tree will be decorated tonight once our little monster goes to bed. I say monster because Euan is particularly keen on any wires at this age. His favourites are all the ones that plug into the wall. If you gave him a choice between a brand new shiny toy and a cord he'd go for the cord every time. His other favourite thing is the billi bobbers (door stopper's) - you've never seen a kid move so fast to connect with it; We've had to take them all off the walls-obsessed! My little bug is growing up so fast, standing, walking along the furniture and getting into whatever he's not supposed to-time to lock up the house...good heavens, I still have no idea how to work child locks.

I hope everyone is having a very cheerful December and enjoying all the spirit that comes with the change of seasons. xoxo

PINCH AND A PUNCH FOR THE FIRST OF THE MONTH

What a wintery welcome back to Ottawa we had this morning.
We landed in Ottawa to find a snow covered ground and boy was it cold; but something tells me (my husband ) that this isn't the cold he was talking about when he said I would have to get ready for an Ontario winter. Whaaattt- how much colder can it get?!

I could have stayed under that palm tree for the entire winter, it was heavenly. But enough about sunshine for now, let's get on with the more important topic- Christmas is 24 DAYS away. I have less than a week to pull most of my gifts together and get them wrapped and sent out as well as get our Christmas cards sorted before we head out west to enjoy a Walker Christmas. It's going to have to be one meticulously organized week- I will need advice from L aka (Miss Organization)

Happy Advent! xoxxoxoxox
