Yesterday Taylor Swift performed in the  BBC live lounge. Her Mumford & Sons, White Blank Page cover was incredible.

SINGER LOVE

What a great weekend & fabulous english Mother's day! I found a sewing table, it came with a 1975 Singer and a side box full of goodies. We brought it home, dusted it off and it works!

Connor tried it out with toilet paper (something Sarah Hardaker said she did when she was little)
Connor loved it until the machine got tired.
The sewing machine and table are in need of some TLC.

While my Singer is out being serviced I will give the sewing table a refurbishment with the help of eHOW Home. I will post some pictures when it's done.

Here are some tips I found on eHow-

1. First remove all drawers and drawer hardware from the desk.

2. Next sand the body of the desk with either an electric sander or sandpaper. If you use an electric sander, you will have to get the harder to reach ornate places on your desk with sandpaper. Sand until any finish that was there is removed or at least the surface is gritty enough to take primer.

3. If there are any holes or blemishes on your desk, use wood filler to fill them in. Choose a wood filler that is similar in colour to your desk and follow the directions. This is also a good time to do any necessary repairs to your desk or desk drawers.

4.Next, use a good wood primer as the first coat of paint on your desk. One coat is usually enough unless you are painting over a darker surface.

5. After choosing the colour you want your desk to be, paint the desk with a glossy finish paint which is easier to clean and looks better than flat paint on furniture. If your desk started out unfinished and in fairly good condition, you can use a varnish. But beware, varnish will show the wood's imperfections.

6. Once the paint has dried, you can return the drawers and hardware to their place. You can buy new hardware if you'd like for a more updated version of your old desk.

I got a few other fun things at Elizabeth's Place which I will post about later this week.   xoxo

ANTIQUE SHOPPING

Yesterday I nosed around in a Bedminster antique shop while Steve took his bike in for a tune up. I found a few sewing tables that I'm interested in and we are going back today to have a closer look.

I was so impressed by  Les Puces while in Paris. I have flea market on the brain and I'm going to have some fun hunting for Bristol treasures.

Have a great weekend!

APRIL FOOLS?!-VW RV

"A pinch and a punch for the first day of the month"  I've found the perfect replies for Connor tomorrow when he tries this out on us. Perfect for fools day!

LES PUCES

When I started writing about Les Puces on my last post, I knew it needed it's own post.

As soon as we pulled into the station we set of to the famous market Les Puces. I could spend years at this market and still not see everything. It's like being in the best thrift, antique, costume, bead, jewellery, furniture stores in the world.

They weren't exagerating when they said it was one of the biggest and most famous.

Husband, give me a budget and send me back to Les Puces please!
