Fell in love, moved back to England for three years, started blogging about my time here which includes my fairytale wedding, plenty of travel, starting a family and other little bits and bobs. Life isn't always perfect but I sure have a lust for it and I am blessed to have found an amazing best friend and husband to share the bumps with. This is my awesome adventure called life and I am loving it.

BYWARD MARKET
Yesterday Euan and I cruised around ByWard Market. I picked up some nice cheeses, local fresh veg & some wild boar sausage. I was also introduced to the famous Obama cookies ( Obama bought some on his visit to Ottawa) and an abundance of maple syrup products!
Here are a few shots in the market.

GO SOMEWHERE
My brain is in travel planning mode. I know it should be in setting up the house mode, but we want to make the most of Steve's parental leave.
I booked a cabin in Nova Scotia to celebrate my birthday with some of my loveliest friends, then out to the West Coast with Hawaii in mind until after Christmas. At that point the plan is to return home and stay put for a long Ontario winter.
I love the planning stages! xoxo

FALL COMFORTS
Anybody who knows me, has heard about my small addiction to turtle necks usually from Smart Set (they consistently have the best selection) After three years away, I went on a little shopping spree today to buy a couple for Autumn and our Thanksgiving family retreat with the Gillespie's, Whitfield's & Johnson's. We plan on driving through Algonquin park on our way to Deerhurst Resort. It will be my first time in the area, I heard it is absolutely breathtaking.

GOOD BYE SUMMER
Tomorrow I'm going turtle neck shopping, I can't think of a better way to start off my favourite season.
On our way out to the Cheo Lottery Home today, we stopped to get some farm veg and I noticed all the pumpkins. I'm itching to take Euan to his first patch and corn maze. October is just around the corner and I'm so looking forward to exploring Ottawa after settling in to our new home.

10:49 EDT Autumnal Equinox
"Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns."

THE HOT TUB IS READY
We have been working on sorting out the house all week and it's finally starting to look kinda like a home.
Steve spent this afternoon cleaning out the hot tub and getting it ready for our first dip (aka avoiding the explosion of boxes inside).
I can't wait to try it out tomorrow night once it's nice and toasty and I especially can't wait until it snows!

MOVING IN DAY!
My beautiful boy, supervising in the garage yesterday.
Except for a few fallen boxes, off the back of the truck yesterday morning, my gorgeous Italian bike being a little bruised and a scare when they found the piano crate had busted open, the unload went reasonably well.
This entire week will be dedicated to unpacking everything and finding a home for it- boy we have a lot of stuff!

FALL SWIMMING
Fall air, leaves changing color but a delightful 88 degrees in the Brookstreet outdoor pool last night. What a wonderful way to unwind after a busy day.
This will be our last weekend of hotel living -whoo hoo!! We got news yesterday that our container has arrived in the country and will be unloaded on Monday.
Wednesday morning I'll be waking up in our new home. *grin*
Steve booked me in to the Brookstreet spa this afternoon. I'll let you know how it is!
Happy Friday xoxo

MY RED SOLO CUP
We are still living out of a hotel, but getting smarter and eating at the house instead of out every night. We've even been walking around the neighborhood pretending we have moved in. It's funny, the things you will do when you are in limbo to feel normal. We bought Dixie plates and Solo cups. We weren't sure what to do with the Solo cups at first and thought they were scratch and wins, clearly we figured it out! HA HA
Hopefully we will get our furniture some time in the next few weeks. I'm going a little crazy at this point and want to get settled. Most importantly, it's time for my little bug to have his own room. xoxo

MAGICAL ASPECTS OF LIFE
I have only a few weeks left abroad, and the responsibilities and realities of life in the West are beginning to grind at me. I feel seasick, unsteady, and clouded with questions. Thrust back into my old life, thrust into the turmoil of economic fragility and debt, I wonder if the magical aspects of life I’ve come to appreciate will simply evaporate. - Brittany Vargas

CAR SHOPPING
The Gillespie's went car shopping this weekend and we all got lucky. Not only did we find the perfect vehicle for our family but we found this little car for Euan as well. Steve had to hold him in but he got the idea right all on his own. What a clever boy!

FORGET THE FURNITURE- LET'S GO TO GUELPH!
We have been staying close to Ottawa waiting for the call about our furniture since arriving in Canada.
Thankfully, the Labour Day weekend has allowed us to come to Guelph to visit with family- they don't deliver on weekends. It has been hard being back home and not being able to go visit directly.
This is Steve and Euan in his Mom's new garden. I love this garden, it attracts so many little creatures, they don't mind if you're sitting near by - they will still come around to grab a snack!
Check out Lynn's collection of freshly grown goods!
