MY FAV

I took the kids to Stanley Park the other day to keep them busy while Husband & C went to House of Barons to get their hair cut. We walked along the river and stopped to watch a tennis match that caught Euan's attention. We saw a dog walker take 7 dogs including a
St. Bernard  out of her small VW Golf which was pretty entertaining. The rest of the dogs were of medium size too. I wish I could have taken a picture -it was adorable.

BATHING SUIT HEAVEN

A friend at book club invited a couple of us to a private bathing suit fitting last night. I died and went to Seafolly heaven! Seafolly is an Australian company that has a wide selection for bigger cup sizes. I bought my maternity bathing suit for our Italy trip from a shop that sold Seafolly in Bristol and I have another Seafolly bikini that has lasted me a decade.

I seriously could have spent a lot more money than I did especially with the excuse of having a pool in our back garden. When I came back down to reality I picked out these two. I'm still breastfeeding so I'm hoping buying a size smaller will do the trick when I drop a few more pounds in the bust. The other bathing suit I bought was Body Glove and let me tell you it definitely fits the name- Husband liked it alot. *wink*

Here is my Seafolly one piece. It's the same style I had for my maternity suit but a navy instead of black. As you can see in this picture it really hugs the body and makes me feel super sexy!

MAKE MEMORIES

CHRISTY SALAD

I wanted to make Caesar yesterday but I used the last of our garden romaine over the weekend. You always get the best inspiration when using what we have in the cupboard and the fridge so here is  another Christy salad. Enjoy!

Chickpeas, Red Onion, Tomatoes, Avacado, Cooked Green Beans,

Topped with fresh garden dill, Dijon Mustard, Olive Oil & Red Wine Vinegar. It was Delicious. The children liked it too!

UNCONDITIONAL PARENTING

Having kids doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a parent, and I know that very well. Being a parent will surely change your life forever: filling it with unconditional, life lasting love, care and warm feelings. You’ll live in love. And learn.

BLESSED

It's 8am and I'm sitting poolside enjoying my garden and this book. It was lent to me last week at our book swap.

We all met for a  BBQ at Liz's to toast summer, eat burgers and swap books and wish Sarah and Liz all the best on their new adventures. All the girls invited were asked to bring their favourite condiment- I brought salsa & guacamole. Some of the other condiments were homemade ketchup, farm relish, caramelized onion, picked peppers, pampered chef mayo... you get the idea.  Our host had two delightful waiters on hand who kept our beverages topped up and served us hot sliders off the BBQ. We sunk our teeth into our gorgeous loaded up burgers & talked about what everyone was planning on reading this summer. It was a beautiful summer evening sans kids.

Thank you Liz & thank you Betina for lending me Chicken Soup for the Preschoolers Soul. It indeed feeds my soul! LLBC xo

FOURTEEN

I met this charmer in 2008. We've had many adventures together and we will have more this summer. I hope he remembers them all like I do. Don't forget to take the best 10 minutes out of every day. Happy 14th Birthday little C!

See you in 5 days  xoxo

Art Is In Bakery

I saw this mouth watering picture on Ottawa Bites and knew I had to dine here. This is one of my favourite salads. Caprese is one I usually make as soon as our garden tomatoes are ripe but I'm not sure I am able to pull of this fried goat cheese-yummy! The Art is in Bakery is located HERE..

LITTLE MONSTERS

My friend Angela asked a few of us if we wanted to see Lady Gaga at the RBC Blues Festival last weekend. I'm not a fan, but I am YES girl who is always up for something new. I had no idea what I was getting myself into having never seen Lady Gaga or bought tickets for Blues fest before. It was crazy busy!  We strolled in just as she came on stage having started our evening at The Mill Street Brew Pub which was packed but we found some great seats on the patio and they had a table for us in no time.

Clearly we had no idea what to expect because there were about 20,000 people in front of the stage and little hope of getting anywhere near it.  Super fans had lined up from 4am to crowd the front of the stage.

Lady Gaga put on a great show and made it worth it for all the early morning riser super fans who Gaga calls her little monsters. For us, we got what we put in. Late arrival meant we were not getting anywhere near the stage but our friend Catherine got us as close as the crowd would let her. Thanks Catherine! I was thankful for a few solid glimpses of Lady Gaga on the stage during her many wardrobe changes.  She sang most songs from her ArtRave tour but included all of her hits for the Top 40 crowd. (Me)  I bee bopped around to Poker Face & Just Dance holding my hand bag and trying to avoid the heavy smoke wafting my way. I definitely had some Lady Mama THOUGHTS... what the heck am I doing at an outdoor concert with 27,000 other people? Overall I had a fabulous time with the girls and I can now check seeing an international superstar at an outdoor festival off " The List "

JUMPER

Our bugs are getting bigger and bigger. Euan is jumping out of his crib( it might be time for a big boy bed ) and Romilly can ride the teeter totter alone now. I'm not sure where the time goes but I'm thankful to be home with them. I can't imagine only seeing for a few hours at night at this age; it really goes by too fast.

We are getting ready to go camping this weekend with 14 other families. I'm either going to love it or shed a lot of tears but I'll be sure to pack the most important thing... WINE!

I just got my computer back from the technician so hopefully I can catch up on some post this week.
