The boys went to the Ottawa Senators game last night. Connor was VERY excited. He made a sign, one side said- thanks Dad! and the other side said-go Sens go! The Senators put on a good show, they won 3-1 which always makes going to a game extra special.

We are on our way to city hall today to skate and then go for lunch in the By-ward market. After the little ones go to bed  tonight we will have some champagne in the hot tub and watch the NYC countdown on TV. It's been lovely having our whole family together for the holidays. Connor doesn't go back to England until Jan 4th. We've had time to really enjoy it.
I hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Years Eve! Xoxo

We came up to Tremblant on Boxing Day and are spending a few nights here. The kids have been sleeping great after busy days spent frolicking. This morning I woke up to some beautiful fresh powder and pancakes! ( thanks Steve! ) I am looking forward to today, we are going to build a snow-man on the golf course, go ice-skating and then do some sledding. The intrawest time share has been a great adventure and the spaces we've stayed in have been cozy. Happy Holidays!

In December in Tradition we are throwing our Martini & Mistletoe party tonight. Everyone will be bringing a wrapped gift, wearing a bow tie and are family. It's the busiest Christmas on record which is why I've not been making as much time to blog. I've had a wonderful few days catching up with the family- we are all together this year!

Wishing everyone a wonderful & safe Christmas Eve! I'll be kissing Father Christmas under the mistletoe!

We are off to the NAC tonight to see The Sound of Music! This might be my fourth time seeing it, never in the same theatre. It's a sing-a-long tonight. Did you know The Sound of Music ran on Broadway for 1,443 performances ( 1959 to 1963), garnering five Tony Awards. What is your favourite song? Mine is- My favourite things.

This was the best part of my night. I made us hot chocolate, decorated the basement tree and hung lights in C's room; he flies from London, Heathrow in two sleeps.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm in a Christmas panic. I'm not sure I have everything I need. We went to BC and celebrated Christmas there and it's taking me some time to get geared up for our next one. Good thing Steve and I work well under pressure!

I wrapped presents and put them under the tree today. This was pretty impressive, because Euan was all over me. Now if we can keep him away from the presents and the tree until Christmas morning. This is the first year we've had to worry about Euan destroying the tree and opening presents. We've tied our tree to the wall from two angles and explained not to touch the tree or the ornaments, which  translates to toddler Euan as touch them as much as possible- bless him!

Is everyone feeling the last minute pressure of Christmas or have some of you had it sorted for months now?

Happy Friday! xo

Before Hunter's became the most worn boot in North America  I was pairing them with outfits like this. I would show up to dinner in my welly boots and my Northern Angels would have a laugh at my expense. I knew one day we would all be wearing them. Damn they look Goooood!

DECEMBER 18 2008

5 years ago today my friend Shannon introduced me to this amazing man.

It was a whirlwind romance from the minute I walked through the pub doors and introduced myself, just a few minutes late. I had just come from home where I blew out the power of the entire mansion apartments I was living in on South Park St. in Halifax. Steve had the most electric eyes and engaging smile.

Timing is a wonderful thing, had it been any sooner or later we may not be where we are today. Married with 3 beautiful children and always looking for our next adventure, be it big or small.

I sit here and think, how can we have fit so much into just five short years? Then I smile, imagine how much we can fit into a life time!!

Happy anniversary my love. In this complicated, busy life you are and  always will be my favourite person to hang out with and my very best friend.

Have a wonderful day full of surprises, love, fun and happiness, oh and cake! Wish I could be there to celebrate with you.  Good friends are like stars, you don't always see them but you know they're always there.

Happy Birthday beautiful friend.

This was us driving home from the tree farm today, or at least how I imagined it would be. In reality it was all quite civilized. Ian's Adventure Park and Tree Farm shook off all the snow and stuffed our beautiful tree in a bag; they even offer elves with string to put it on top of the car for you. We had a fabulous day with friends picking out our tree, sledding & drinking hot chocolate. It was everything I expected it to be and more- the perfect quintessential Christmas memory.

Emily Carr was born Dec 13, 1871. I have walked past her statue many times on my visits home in the past few years. She was a beautiful artist and someone we always knew a lot about growing up in Victoria. I just arrived back home from BC tonight and noticed Google was paying tribute to this fine artist on her birthday. It seemed like a nice coincidence, so I wanted to as well.

If anyone needs me I'll be playing here! We are going to Victoria to visit my parents and then taking Mom and the kids up to Whistler for a few days of winter fun. Wish us luck on our flight with the kids. It's Romilly's first time flying and Euan.... well let's just say he's a lot busier now than the last time he was on a flight. He was once a pro.

 Happy Holidays friends! xoxo
